![]() One keyboard I have used as a "do-everything" board is the Kurzweil pc3 (61 key version). It's a relatively cheap keyboard ($899) and it kind of feels like a Casio or Yamaha home keyboard you'd get at big box electronics store. It even has a knob that changes the EQ in such a way that it sounds good for solo performances on one end of the dial and sounds good for band performances on the other end of the dial. You can control the effects level (such as delay, reverb, tremolo, phaser, etc) as you play. It allows you to control the Attack, Decay, Release, cutoff frequency, and resonance of synth patches as you play. ![]() It has a rotary speaker simulator with slow and fast speeds. ![]() I like that you can alter the sounds of the patches as you play: You can switch between sounds, split the keyboard, and layer sounds pretty quickly. I like that it is designed for stage performances. The organ, piano, electric piano, and synth sounds sound pretty similar to the stuff I hear on my Yes, Pink Floyd, etc. ![]() I'm mainly a guitarist and I've never tried the other suggested keyboards in this thread, so my opinion might be worthless, but I've been pretty happy with the Roland VR-09 that I recently bought. ![]()
